The JSI Tanzania field office is recruiting for one Senior Human Resource Officer to join the Human Resource Unit. This position will support all JSI projects in Tanzania.
LENGTH AND LOCATION OF POSITION: This is a full time position based in Dar es Salaam, Tanzania. JOB SUMMARY:
The Senior Human Resource Officer is responsible for providing guidance and support to employees and management in all HR related matters that include, manpower planning, recruitment and selection, performance management, staff welfare, compensation and benefits administration, staff training and development and maintenance of industrial relations. This position will report to and working alongside the Deputy Country Operations Director for the Operations. The Senior HRO person will provide leadership and strategic direction in the HR function according to JSI’s principles and best practices cognizant with the local environment.
Specific responsibilities will include, but not be limited to, the following:
1. Ensure that planned HR activities are coordinated across JSI,
2. Coordinate recruitment activities such as advert placement, long list and shortlist development, coordinating interviews, filing all interview records, preparing new employee entry materials,
3. Provide guidance and counseling to staff on HR related issues.
4. Assist in the development and implementation of a human resource program in the areas of employee relations, benefits and welfare administration, policies and procedures,

Job Description


AKU-TIHE invites applications for the following position, based in Arusha at the Arusha Medical Center, Tanzania:
Accountant
Reporting to Coordinator Finance.
Your general functions will be;
To receive cash, prepare and send invoices to the companies for medical tests and checkups, Monitor Debtors on regular basis.
To prepare & maintain books of accounts on daily basis e.g. Cash Book, Petty Cash Book, General Ledger, Purchase
Journal, Fixed Assets Register etc
To prepare necessary accrual/adjusting and correcting entries
To prepare schedules of all the current assets, liabilities accounts and follow up on balances
To ensure banking of cash/cheques in bank on daily basis.
To prepare daily collection statement and reconcile with the banking. Process monthly payroll, monthly doctors incentives
Follow-up with the bank regarding all payroll related issue
Insert all related loans and deduction for the month necessary to release the payroll
To file all statutory deduction (PAVE, NSSF) to the respective authority.
Liaison with the other departments related to payroll and others issue related to work.
Processing Purchase Requisitions
Processing VAT exemption papers and supporting documents Ensuring tagging of the fixed assets and updating records Ensuring financial policy and procedures are adhered to Filing for the Finance Office records on day to day basis
To prepare inter-unit and intra-unit reconciliation and send debit notes on monthly basis.
Prepare funding request, financial performance on monthly basis
Assist Coordinator Finance in budget preparation
Skills, Qualifications and Experience
Bachelor in Accounting/Finance or Advance Certification with at least three years of
Department of reputable organization preferably in hospital
Must have understanding of International Accounting and Financial Reporting Standards Excellent interpersonal and team-building skills are essential
Excellent verbal and written communication
Excellent analytical skills and abilities
Able to deliver results under tight deadlines
Excellent MS office skills (specially MS Excel and MS PowerPoint) experience in Finance

Responsibilities
Plan, deploy, configure and maintain servers, administrative responsibility for server;
Operate and administrate database server and back office server (MS Win2003, MS SQL, MS Exchange etc.)
Design server resources concept and create lifecycle plan for servers
Server patch management, scripting (e.g. log in scripts), user administration (active directory) Install and ensure daily backup performance in all production servers
Proactive analysis of logging data to help to prevent system down time
Plan and execute disaster recovery and normal recovery procedures, visual control of hardware equipment ensure uptime of server
Managing database security/integrity and backup procedures Implementing database management system security measures Designing maintenance Plans and putting them into operation
Monitoring and troubleshooting SQL Server database management system Optimizing database performances
Qualifications and Experience
Degree in Information technology or business information technology or comparable qualification At least two years of professional experience in an operational IT role as an administrator
Evidence of sound experience in Server administration (modern MS Windows server (hardware, operation system, MS Office, network connections), patch management, scripting, user administration
MS SQL server administration
Advanced knowledge of Windows Active Directory Network environment, DNS and DHCP
IT security tools and methods (firewalls, VPN, TCP/IP)
Backup and recovery procedures (sql-database server, operating systems)
Problem solving, analytical and process oriented
Demonstrate strong competency in SQL DDL and DML querying languages
Disciplined approach towards daily operations and documentation Ability to communicate effectively both in writing and orally in English
Note: Certification in any Database management system course would be an added advantage
