JOB DESCRIPTION FOR Sales Account Manager
Reports to: Corporate sales Manager
Department: Corporate sales
KEY WORKING RELATIONSHIPS:
Internal: All departments
External: Prospective Customers
Supervisory Responsibilities:
Duty Station: Dar es Salaam
Overall Job Function/ Overall Job Purpose/ Overall Job Objective: (About 2 sentences needed here).
A Sales Account Manager is given a budgeted Sales Target (Revenue) and is responsible for managing the full sales cycle to achieve their respective target. The SAM is expected to be intimately involved in all aspects of the Sales (Pre-sales, Sales, Delivery) with the customer and take full ownership until after the first invoice is paid.

Detailed Job Responsibilities:

  1. To increase sales volume based against budgeted targets
  2. Achieve monthly/quarterly/annual sales quotas as budgeted by Management
  3. Ensure effective Prospecting to Activity ratio to be at least 20% prospect to close ratio
  4. Protect existing revenue stream if and when required
  5. Ensure proper sales procedures are followed from lead generation to execution of contract and collection of the first payment
  6. Proposal & Presentation creation & customization for various client showcasing OUR CLIENT products and services
  7. Manage and report daily/weekly sales activities to Corporate Sales Manager in an agreed format (see appendix)
  8. Complete allocated tenders in a timely manner including the compilation of all required documentation, etc.
  9. Help design and manage customer acquisition strategies to achieve budgeted targets
  10. Make sure customers receive their FIRST invoice in a timely manner and manage entire process until collection (one time activity for a new customer)
  11. Ensure proper use and regular updates to the ERP regarding all sales related activities.
  12. Up-sell: Advise customers to get 24 month contracts, sign onto maintenance contracts, issue extended warranties for wireless customers, etc
  13. Build sound relationships and references within the Enterprise, SMB, & NGO business segments in Tanzania
  14. Provide monthly updates on competitive intelligence.


Job Outputs:
KPI’s are met.

Minimum Educational Qualifications: B.com, BSc, Business Administration/Marketing degree
Minimum Work Experience and Technical Experience: Minimum 5 years working experience in B2BSales to the Tanzanian corporate market with a proven track record with ISP / Telecom experience

Qualities of person needed: Must be result oriented, self motivated, Team player, and Business acumen, able to work under pressure, strategic focus
Required Competencies: Presentations skills, Negotiations skills, Reporting, MS Office conversant, excellent communication skills, time management , sales cycle management, executive selling skills, networking technologies understanding.
